CHILE. Silvered Brass 8 Escudos Pattern, ND (1842). NGC MS-62.
KM-Pn8. An interesting piece with an attractive obverse motif quite similar to the adopted design of the new 8 Escudos, upon inspection only slight modifications to the features can be noticed. While to reverse features the city name, Paris, where these pieces were struck along with what is presumably the makers/company initials "T.W. & W." all within wreath. Nearly all of the silvering remains intact where only one small area on the reverse where the brass core is showing through. A neat an interesting piece sure to add depth to the next collection it enters.
