CHINESE COBALT BIRD AND FLOWER TEMPLE JAR

Chinese birds and flowers blue porcelain temple jar, of baluster form with a knob handle lid, the lid having two cartouches depicting a landscape and auspicious flowers, the body decorated with two large cartouches one depicting cranes perched in a pine tree and one flying above, the other depicting ducks on a pond with one flying above, interspaced with four small cartouches depicting auspicious flowers, having no apparent marks.

Approximate dimensions: h. 14.25", dia. 7.75".
Condition Report: Scattered glaze and manufacturing imperfections, having a 4" hairline in a duck cartouche, and a 1.5" hairline in the crane cartouche, loss of gilt, minor losses to enamel.
