CHINESE TANG MUSICIAN LADY - TL TESTED
Ca. 618-907 AD. A finely modelled terracotta figure of a female musician playing cymbals. She is depicted standing and attentive, wearing a long dress with a cream top and a long, flaring green skirt. Her facial features consist of thin, slightly arched eyebrows, narrow eyes, a pointed nose, and a small mouth painted with red pigment. Her hair is neatly combed into a hairstyle consisting of a high topknot. This piece has been precisely dated by means of a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected in its style, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. The TL certificate with its full report will accompany this lot."
