CHRISTMAS CARD TO TRUMAN CAPOTE FROM GLORIA VANDERBILT AND WYATT COOPER, FAMILY PHOTOGRAPH
A photographic Christmas card, the image printed to the sheet with a narrow white margin and the greeting written by hand on the reverse. The photograph is a family group. Gloria Vanderbilt sits at the right and Wyatt Cooper sits at the left. Two small boys sit between the adults at the front. The boys are the couple's sons, Carter Cooper and Anderson Cooper, the broadcaster, then aged about eight and six. On the reverse, in black ink in a single flowing hand: "Dearest Truman / merry Christmas / Happy new year / to you and Jack / Always love / Gloria and Wyatt". Wyatt Cooper died in 1978, which places the card before that year.
