CHRISTOPHER DRESSER DESIGNED SILVER-PLATED TUREEN

Circa 1880 English Electro-Plated Lidded Tureen by Hukin & Heath, Birmingham, designed by Christopher Dresser, with ebony handles and set on three spike form legs, base and lid engraved with crest depicting an arm with extended sword above a crown, bottom stamped "Designed by Dr. C. Dresser", the Hukin & Heath mark, "2123", and the British registry mark, lid base marked "W. Thornhill & Co., 144, New Bond St. W", 8 1/2" high, 12" x 9 1/4". Lid replaced, solder repair to legs.
