Tracce d’uso alla legatura, internamente tracce di umidità al margine inferiore di alcune pagine, sporadico foxing, esemplare genuino. Rarissima edizione di Lione. L’opera contiene le importanti interpretazioni degli Umanisti Erasmo da Rotterdam, Bartholomaes Latomus e Filippo Melantone. Nelle pagine finali non numerate compare la traduzione in greco del De Senectute e del Somnium Scipionis fatta dal celebre umanista Theodorus Gaza. L’edizione successiva, stampata dal Payen nel 1556, fu messa all’Indice nel 1559 a causa dello di scritto di Filippo Melantone, considerato eretico. Cfr. Beautiful printer's device on the title page, illustrated initials, italic, round and Greek type. Handwritten ownership notes from previous owners on the inside cover and on the last blank page. Sign of wear on the binding, internally sign of humidity on the lower margin of some pages, sporadic foxing, genuine copy.Very rare Lyon edition. The work contains the important interpretations of the Humanists Erasmus of Rotterdam, Bartholomaes Latomus and Philip Melanchthon. In the final unnumbered pages appears the translation into Greek of the De Senectute and the Somnium Scipionis made by the famous humanist Theodorus Gaza. The next edition, printed by Payen in 1556, was put on the Index in 1559 due to the writing of Philip Melanchthon, considered heretical.
