Gilbert Harold Merrick (26 January 1922 - 3 February 2010) was an English footballer and manager, considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the UK in the 1950s. Merrick spent his entire career at Birmingham City, playing more than 700 times from 1939 and 1960. He won 23 caps for the English national team and played in the 1954 World Cup.
