depicting the Christ Pantocrator flanked by the Mother of God and St. John the Baptist, finely painted in traditional manner in ochre and sienna tones, the top panel (John) carved on verso with a cross, egg tempera and gesso on wood panel, housed in a hinged metal kiot; dimensions when open: 5.5 x 14 cm (2 1/8 x 5 1/2 in.), closed: 5.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm (2 1/8 x 1 3/4 x 1 in.)
CONDITION
The icon is in overall stable age-appropriate condition. Overall surface dirt, darkening, wear and craquelure to the panels. The leftmost panel (Mother of God) split vertically along the middle.
