CIRCA 1850 BLANKET CHEST TO KANSAS CITY FAMILY BEHNEY

The pine blanket chest with inner till is found in its original red stain finish, the corners with dovetailed construction, the case raised on four short turned legs.

The back is addressed to M. B. Behney Kansas City MO.

A Kansas City contractor named B. H. Behney built the Italian Renaissance Revival Switzer School on the historic register at 1829 Madison Avenue and owned a property on Quality Hill also on the Historic Register.

Measures 22.75 x 37.25 x 19.5 inches.
