He is best known for his distinctive style, characterised by its emphasis on harmony, balance, and subtle colour harmonies. One of Whistler's most famous paintings is "Whistler's Mother" (1871), also known as "Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1." The painting depicts Whistler's mother seated in profile against a neutral background, exemplifying his skill in creating evocative compositions and exploring tone and colour. Henry Irving, born John Henry Brodribb (1838–1905), was an influential English actor and theater manager. He is best known for his association with the Lyceum Theatre in London and for his partnership with actress Ellen Terry. Irving began his career as a clerk but quickly turned to acting, making his professional debut in 1856. He steadily built a reputation as a talented actor, known for his versatility and commanding stage presence. In 1871, Irving was appointed the manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, where he achieved great success and helped to elevate the theater's reputation.
