CITROËN 5HP “TREFLE” 1925 - History:
Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1921, the Citroën Type C 5 HP was one of the brand’s greatest commercial successes during the 1920s. Designed to offer a lightweight, economical, and reliable car, it enabled Citroën to make automobile ownership accessible to an ever-wider customer base.
The Trèfle version, introduced in 1923, is undoubtedly the most iconic in the lineup. Its ingenious three-seat configuration, featuring a central rear seat, earned it its now-legendary nickname.

Description:
The vehicle presented here is a Citroën Type C 5 HP Trèfle, likely manufactured in November 1925, although its Belgian registration certificate lists a first registration date of 1938—presumably when the vehicle was first imported into Belgium.
This car exhibits excellent overall authenticity and appears to have undergone a restoration that has now developed a harmonious patina.
This car has been restored and shows some flaws in the chrome plating and elsewhere.
The engine compartment appears particularly complete and notably retains its original Citroën manufacturer’s plate. The various visible mechanical components are consistent in their configuration. Note that the engine block is cracked, likely due to freezing.
