The 117th New York Infantry was engaged at Drewry's Bluff, Bermuda Hundred, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Chaffin's Farm, Fort Gilmer, Darbytown Road, and Fort Fisher, North Carolina. 130 officers and enlisted men were killed or mortally wounded during the war and another 135 died of disease.
