Civil War - G.A.R. 4th Independent Battalion Ohio Volunteer Cavalry veteran membership badge. The obverse features a mounted cavalryman. The reverse has a crossed cannon and anchor in the center with the wording "SURVIVORS ASSOCIATION" The C clasp pin is complete. This medal measures 3.5" x 1.875". The yellow ribbon is in excellent condition. The medal drop shows some wear. The 4th Independent Battalion, Ohio Cavalry was mustered in August 3 to September 21, 1863 at Cincinnati, Ohio. They were mustered out February 15 to March 14, 1864. This battalion had five companies. In March 1864, many men of the battalion became part of the 13th Regiment, Ohio Cavalry. Part of the battalion was in service during Morgan's Raid and was sent to Eastern Kentucky. In-house shipping is available.
