The lot is comprised of the following:

10 CDVs of identified soldiers from the 94th New York Infantry, many autographed. Subjects include: Captain Horace G. White, POW 7/1/1863 Gettysburg, PA, confined at Macon, GA, and Columbia, SC, WIA 7/1/1863 Gettysburg, PA. Astor, NY: Meade Brothers (top edge of print and mount trimmed). -- Nathan Hildreth, possibly autographed as a corporal, WIA 2/7/1865, severe wound in left leg, amputated, DOW 3/4/1865. LaFargeville, NY: C.P. Rood (clipped corners). -- Charles E. Hulbert, autographed as 1st lieutenant. Watertown, NY: Charles S. Hart (clipped corners). -- Philos G. Cook, autographed as a chaplain "near Kettle Run, Va, Novem. 3, 1863." New York: Brady, 1863. -- Byron Parsons, autographed as a captain, 9 June 1863, WIA 7/1/1863 Gettysburg, PA, POW 8/19/1864 Weldon Railroad, VA, paroled 3/1/1865. Mesler, possibly autographed, POW 8/19/1864 Weldon Railroad, VA, paroled 3/15/1865. Baltimore, MD: Bendann Bros. -- Willard L. Cook, WIA 8/30/1862 2nd Bull Run, VA, severe wound in right arm, amputated. Waterton, NY: Charles S. Hart (light wear to top edge of mount). From 1870-1879, Cook served as a lighthouse keeper at Rock Island Lighthouse in New York. -- N. Seymour Colton, autographed as lieutenant. New York: Mathew Brady.

The 94th New York Infantry saw action at a number of significant battles throughout the war, including Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville. The 94th NY was heavily engaged on 1 July at Gettysburg, sustaining heavy casualties and losses from prisoners, including the commanding officer, Colonel Root, who was wounded and had to be abandoned when the unit was forced back by superior CSA forces. Several were captured during this retreat.

Jackson, 106th New York Infantry, autographed, POW 4/29/1863 Fairmount, VA, paroled same day. N.p.: Tupper (loss to top right corner of print). 2 cent revenue stamp to verso. -- John H. Ridgway, 133rd New York Infantry, autographed as corporal. Williamsburg [VA?]: L. Gray (small chip to lower left corner of print).
