Lot includes tintype images of Garrett Puffer of Company B of the 1st Michigan Cavalry, along with his wife, Pheobe Puffer. The uniformed photo of Puffer is a 6th plate tintype showing him in a shell jacket with M1851 sword belt & plate. He is holding a Cavalry saber in his right hand and a Colt army pistol in his left hand. The sword scabbard sits across his lap. Puffer's hat shows crossed sabers on the front. His wife's image measures 2 7/8" x 2 5/8" and shows her seated in a polka dot dress. The images include a letter from the person who originally sold the images, and information about Puffer and the 1st Michigan Cavalry. Both images have heavy wear, but details are fairly clear. Good
