[CIVIL WAR - CAVALRY]. BRADY, Mathew (1822-1896), photographer. A group of 11 CDVs of Union Cavalry generals, incl. BUFORD, SHERIDAN, KILPATRICK, GREGG, TORBERT, KAUTZ, & STURGIS.

The following CDVs include Brady's Washington, DC, imprint to mount recto and/or verso: John Buford, best known for the major role he played during the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg on 1 July 1863 while in command of his cavalry division (few stains to mount). -- Alfred Thomas Torbert. -- Hugh Judson Kilpatrick (occasional spotting/soiling to print and mount). -- David McMurtrie Gregg (2), (one with small chip to top right corner of print). -- August Kautz. -- Samuel Sturgis. -- Alfred Pleasonton (occasional spotting, light surface abrasions near top left corner). -- Emory Upton.

[With:] 2 uncredited views of Philip Henry Sheridan (first with loss to top right corner of print, horizontal crease through mount, light stains; second with light soiling).

Together, 11 CDVs of Union Cavalry generals. Condition generally good unless otherwise noted. Most with minor curve to print and mount.
