Autograph album containing the names, regiments, and residences of various Federal officers who were incarcerated at Camp Sorghum, Columbia, South Carolina. This attractive volume bears an artfully inked title-cover page with classic Federal eagle design. Among the names within are those of Capt. D. L. Wright, 51st Indiana Infantry; Lt. Emmett Mather, 1st Vermont Cavalry; Lt. Henry Schutter, 43rd New York Infantry; and many others. Such albums were frequently compiled by officers who survived mutual imprisonment and wanted to retain a memento of their incarceration.
