While not quite a "bird's eye view" as the title suggests, this is a scarce Civil War-period railroad map of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware with parts of North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Jersey shown with mountainous topography. The map was presented as an advertising vehicle for the Home Insurance Company of New York and signed by James F. Crosby, an agent in Albany, in the lower right corner.
