CIVIL WAR MODEL 1840 NCO SWORD 1863
Original Emerson and Silver Trenton New Jersey NCO sword dated 1863. Bright blade is 31 1/2", and has scattered light pitting and edge nicks. Nicely marked on ricasso Emerson & Silver Trenton on one side, and U.S. D.F.M. 1863 on the other. The knuckle bow also has the inspectors mark D.F.M. which stands for Dexter F. Mosman an inspector of Emerson & Silver edged weapons. The brass guard clam shells have bending. The sword retains the original steel scabbard with brass mounts. The mounting screws are missing and there are some small dents. The drag is bent. Overall about 39". Very Good
