CIVIL WAR MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SWORD 1864 AMES

very nice original Ames Model 1860 Cavalry sword with scabbard. Has 34 1/2" bright blade that is marked on one side of ricasso " Ames MFG Co. Chicopee Mass" and on the other side "U.S. J.F. 1864". Also has inspectors mark J.F. on pommel and J.C.W. on drag. Hilt is tight to blade and retains original washer. Knuckle bow has some slight bending. Has leather grip, but is missing twisted brass wire. Scabbard is in nice condition. A fine example f this Civil war sword. About 41" overall. Very Good-Excellent
