CIVIL WAR US LOT OF 6 SIGNATURES & DOCUMENTS

Lot of 6 Civil War and Reconstruction era documents, letters, and signatures from men who served in war and went on to postwar prominence. Includes a handwritten war letter from H.S. Cornwall, included with its original mailing envelope, a decorated patriotic cover depicting a soldier an the phrase "Stand By the Flag." Also includes a soldier's pass signed May 30th 1865 by Brevet Brigadier General Nathan A. Munroe Dudley, excusing the soldier from morning duties for one week. Signed at Tullahoma, Tennessee. Also includes 1882 dated letter from William Stone who was a member of the 19th Massachusetts Infantry and went on to be a Major, appointed to the Reconstruction in South Carolina and was an attorney after the war. Mark H. Dunnell, a Civil War veteran who fought with the 5th Maine and went on to be a congressman from Minnesota after the war, John Raines who was a Captain of Company G, 85th NY, and a five-page letter written in the late 19th Century by a woman, Immogene Wright Barron, tracing her family back to Commodore Samuel Barron, a Confederate Naval officer.
