Lot of 9 Civil War and Reconstruction era documents and signatures. Includes an obituary tribute to 4th NJ Colonoel J. H. Simpson penned by one of his soldiers; an application for a Widow's pension filled out by the widow Mary E. Ferguson for her husband Isaac Ferguson, a Private from Co. "E" 124th NY Volunteers, dated May 26th, 1864; a handwritten note from Lloyd Mahaney, a 1st Lieutenant who fought with Co. G, 2nd Maryland Infantry; Col. Preston B. Plumb who fought with the 11th Kansas Cavalry; Major Daniel W. McClure, who was an officer with the Paymaster Department and a West Point Graduate as well as a Prisoner of War; Brevet Major Benjamin J. Spooner, a veteran of Kennesaw Mountain (where he lost his arm), Resaca, and Chattanooga campaigns; Col. Charles Russell Codman, who commanded the 45th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry; Thomas Hudson McKee who was an inmate at the infamous Libby Prison, and Edward Hogue Funston, who fought in the Civil War and went on to become a Congressman after the war. Some of the signatures include several pages of printed internet-based research material. Most appear to have been culled from autograph albums. Slight discoloration on several pieces, some have very light edge wear. Very Good - Excellent
