Serial # 7649. Barrel length 30". Caliber 40-50. Made 1868-1888. The Rolling Block was a favorite of buffalo hunters including Buffalo Bill Cody. This example features a full heavy octagon barrel, German silver knife blade front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, rolling block action, single trigger, walnut stocks with curved steel butt-plate. The barrel is a butter smooth mix of patina and blue. The case color of action has a soft gray and patina mix. Legends on barrel and frame are crisp. Stocks are very clean, proud to metal with just a few average mars. The rifling is sharp and clean. Caliber is stamped under the barrel. A really fine sporting rifle of the buffalo hunting era. (A)
