CLERMONT-FERRAND Truncated conical pitcher with tasseled handle, 18th century. Inside the lid, in low relief: A* STAGNON in reverse. Hallmarks on the lid: 1) star / A S, Antoine STAGNONE, undoubtedly of Italian origin; we have encountered his hallmark—depicting a unicorn—several times on pieces of Piedmontese origin. Second half of the 18th century. Height: 24 cm. Superb example. Unprecedented hallmarking.
