Condition Report:
The canvas appears original. There are a couple of very fine lines of craquelure to the sky above the ship, only visible upon very close inspection. There are a few instances of minor flattening to some of the impasto tips. Three is a very faint linear scuff to the upper left corner, only visible upon close inspection, with one or two possible further more minor instances elsewhere. There is light surface dirt to the work, with specks of studio detritus and a few instances of accretions. This excepting, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Inspection under Ultraviolet light does not appear to reveal any signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is presented in a wooden and canvas slip in a gilted wooden frame.
