COLONIAL COVERED SUGAR BOWL, fiery opalescent lead glass, deep nine-sided bowl with conforming large rim scallops, raised on a nine-sided stem with upper knop, and a stepped circular foot with a light rough pontil mark, nine-sided cover with hexagonal acorn-form finial. Curling, Robertson & Co., Pittsburgh, PA and others. 1850-1870. 9 1/2" HOA, 5 3/4" D rim, 3 1/2" D foot.
Base undamaged; cover in excellent condition with a few scattered flakes to the rim. Bowl having a few light refracting annealing lines to the interior, as made.
