COLONIAL OPEN COMPOTE, fiery opalescent lead glass, nine-sided bowl with flaring rim having conforming scallops, raised on a nine-panel stem with upper knop and stepped circular foot, rough pontil mark. Manipulated from a sugar bowl. Curling, Robertson & Co., Pittsburgh, PA and others. 1850-1870. 5 1/4" H, 7 3/4" DOA rim, 3 1/2" D foot.
