Author: [OMAS]
Title: Colorado Black Double Nibbed Fountain Pen
Place Published: Italy
Publisher:
Date Published: c.1945
Description:

Very rare Colorado double-barreled, double-nibbed piston-filler fountain pen, black barrel and cap, white metal band and clip. Barrel is bifurcated to open in a "scissor" configuration, revealing two separate nibs, permitting the use of two colors of ink in a single pen. The gripping sections are marked with a red dot and a white dot to indicate which side has which color ink. Each half of the pen has its own ink reservoir; pumping the plunger at the back end fills the reservoirs. Originally thought to be an OMAS product, it has been discovered that Colorado pens were manufactured in a very small plant in the Bologna area owned and run by Orlando Quadretti, who got a patent for the pen in 1949. It is believed by some that OMAS handled distribution and sales. Medium nibs. Excellent condition, unblemished, appears to be new old stock. An incredible pen, almost never found in this condition.
