COLT DETECTIVE SPECIAL .38 SPECIAL REVOLVER

[ translate ]

SERIAL NUMBER: B09107. BARREL: 2". CALIBER: .38 SPECIAL. MANUFACTURED: 1970. This Colt Detective Special .38 Special revolver is a highly desirable late Second Issue model manufactured around 1970 with serial number B09107. Built on Colt?s iconic carbon-steel D-frame, this compact snub-nosed revolver is distinguished by its 6-shot cylinder capacity and classic 2-inch barrel featuring a traditional exposed ejector rod rather than the later shrouded style. While originally shipped from the factory with checkered walnut grips and a polished Colt Royal Blue or Nickel finish, this specific firearm has been updated with aftermarket rubber grips to improve recoil absorption and handling. It retains the standard fixed iron sights, a serrated blade front sight, and authentic factory rollmarks including the signature "Rampant Colt" logo stamped on the left side of the frame. Operating on a smooth double-action / single-action mechanic, the revolver utilizes Colt's traditional lock work to achieve a remarkably tight, "bank vault" cylinder lockup at the moment of firing. CONDITION: Good. 80%. The blueing show edge wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Operates normally. C&R 27-269
