COLT MODEL 1911 US ARMY 45 AUTO PISTOL MADE 1919

SN 616235, made in 1919. 5" barrel semi automatic pistol in .45 ACP. This is a good example of a very late WWI Col M1911 contract pistol as produced for the US Army. This pistol was produced at he very end of the very last serial number block of the US Army contract M1911s, probably shipped to Springfield Armory in 1919. Left side of the slide has two line Colt patent address markings with rampant colt logo in the middle, "H" proof on rear of the slide above the firing pin, right side of the slide is marked "MODEL of 1911 US ARMY." The left side of the frame is stamped with the Eagle Head / S4 proof mark by the magazine release button. "United State Property" marking on the right side of the frame above the Serial Number. Has checkered slide stop release and a later-made parkerized checkered thumb safety. Wide hammer and checkered spur, and short grip safety. Barrel is WWII production replacement version stamped with "P" and "F" proofs on right and left side of the lug with no other markings. Has correct walnut diamond checkered grips. Includes WWII era magazine and comes in reproduction cardboard box. Bore excellent, functionally near mint, original finish approximately 50% with slight takedown scar and loss of bluing from age and handling. Excellent*
