COLT THIRD MODEL THUER DERINGER SINGLE SHOT

PISTOL. Cal. 41 RF. S# 2599 (beneath left grip panel). Bbl. 2 1/2". Third Model Thuer single shot deringer pistol mfg. by Colt. Top of bbl. is marked "-COLT-". Brass frame with iron bbl., and 2-piece smooth wood birds head grips. German silver front sight with high hammer early pattern high hammer spur. Matching numbers are present on the frame (beneath the left grip panel), underside of bbl., and are handwritten on the interior of the grip panels. CONDITION: brass frame exhibits a mellow patina, with some spots of darker oxidation. Bbl. exhibits a mottled gray patina, with small areas of light to mild pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting moderate pitting throughout. Grips exhibit wear to their varnish and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
