in bronze with a double patina, brown and gold. The square base with rounded corners is decorated with fluting, books and measuring instruments. The pedestal is adorned with two putti holding tools at the front and two small bowls at the rear. The central section, with a fluted column shaft adorned with laurel wreaths, is surmounted by an antique-style base. It supports the white enamelled dial, signed ‘Gudin’ in Paris. It displays the hours in Roman numerals and the five-minute intervals in Arabic numerals. Wire-suspension movement.Partly 18th-century and reassembled with later components.Height: 41 cm – Width: 27.5 cm – Depth: 21.5 cm. (wear to the patina and numerous restorations; sold as is).
