CONFEDERATE 2ND NATIONAL REUNION FLAG OF GENERAL
WICKHAM, HANOVER DRAGOONS. Like First national in previous lot, this flag came from Hickory Hill Plantation, antebellum home of General Williams C. Wickham, about 34" x 24", all cotton w/ hemmed edges, dbl. applique stars, still retains part of its original haft broken off just below bottom edge. The Second National “Stainless Banner” was adopted May 1, 1863. CONDITION: good to very good overall, blue dye has faded to a plum/brown, red fading, there are sm. reductions as can be seen in photos. (02-13577-2/JS). $1,500-2,000.
