Cal. 54. NSN. Found in northern Alabama & thought to have seen Confederate used, “as found” Whitney Model 1841 Mississippi rifle, brass mounted, 33” bbl. Matching 1850 dated lock & bbl., standard configuration w/ good aesthetic. CONDITION: good overall, original, complete other than missing front band spring, bbl. retains strong traces of original brown in protected areas, overall smooth gray/brown patina. Brass mounts cleaned to light mustard patina, stock has several glued repair breaks around lock, overall sound w/ areas of erosion, large sliver of fore stock missing on left side of bbl. channel between bands & large chips missing from ramrod channel.
