CONSTANT AMBROSE ROUX (FRENCH, 1865-1942), BRONZE BUST, H 11", "YOUNG ACHILLES" C. 1920. Signed "Constant Roux" on left shoulder blade. On a green marble plinth with white and grey veins. Overall H 14". W 8.5". Constant Rou Born Marseilles died in Paris. Provenance: The collection of Bob Schweizer, Ann Arbor, MI. Mr. Schweizer was the fourth-generation owner of Detroit's Schweizer's Restaurant (1862-1991). Schweizer's was known for its collection of 19th c. European paintings and sculpture.
Condition Report: Good condition with normal patina wear one would expect from a fine casting of this age.
