CONTINENTAL CARVED GILTWOOD CHERUB, carved softwood with polychrome-painted surface with gilt wings and clothing, retains hole in base and head for mounting and possibly a halo, currently has ring on back for hanging. Likely a liturgical fragment. Retains an older, likely repainted surface, and more recent gilt surface. Probably Italian. 19th century. 17 1/2" HOA.
