New England, ca. 1780, in walnut stained maple with tiger maple lid, pine secondary, exposed dovetail case, slant lid with breadboard ends, oval brass lock escutheon (no key), fitted interior having drawers and valanced cubbies, the lower case having four graduated beaded edge drawers with replaced Sheraton brass bails, faux lock plates without locks, resting on molded Chippendale bracket base, 35" to writing surface, 45" x 39 1/2" x 20", very good condition.
