Folio (21 1/4 x 14 1/2 in.; 540 x 365 mm). 85 photographic albumen prints (from 1 3/4 x 2 3/8 in.; 46 x 60 mm, to 7 1/2 x 11 1/8 in.; 192 x 284 mm) mounted on 28 card leaves, unbound as issued; some warping, minor foxing, and toning to leaves, minor toning to images. Together in brown cloth covered board portfolio, upper board with pictorial label, yellow coated endpapers; overall rubbed, cloth frayed, foxing and staining to label, spine split. In custom cream-colored linen clamshell case.

Henry Hope Crealock was an accomplished soldier, artist, draftsman, and author during the Victorian period. During his travels his sketchbook was always nearby, and his drawings here illustrate an expedition throughout the Scottish Highlands, which he embarked upon with the chief of the Clan Cameron Lochiel, several companions, and their trusty dogs.
