A large and crude example of a circa late 19th century bowie knife with an unmarked spearpoint blade that measures 8 - 1/8". Blade exhibits evidence of being reground multiple times. Brass diamond shaped crossguard. Checkered wood grip scales are held in place by 3 brass pins on each side. Grips exhibit scattered dents and handling wear with nice age toning. 12 - 7/8" overall. Complete with a leather scabbard that features a tight seam and scattered surface cracking. Silvered throat with stud exhibits an older cleaning. Iron drag with polished tip. Drag with chocolate patina. CONDITION: Fair. Blade Length: 8 - 1/8" Overall Length: 12 - 7/8"
