CT-206. Connecticut. June 19, 1776. 9 Pence. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
CT-206. Connecticut. June 19, 1776. 9 Pence. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
No. 10216. Signed by G. Wyllys. Printed in New London by T. Green, 1776. A gem uncancelled example with ideal inking and bright white paper. PMG population statistics show a total of three 66 EPQ's and 27 lower-graded uncirculated specimens, but nothing higher. Indeed, with the paper color, printing quality and margins of this note, a finer one would be tough to picture. Previously sold in January 2015 wherein it was noted that the other two PMG 66 examples were slash cancelled making this particular note the most desirable available. PMG Pop 3/None Finer.
Estimate: $700 - $900.
Provenance: From the Mid-Continent Collection.
