CUSTOM SPRINGFIELD-FOSTER 6" 1911 RACE GUN
SERIAL NUMBER: F20536. BARREL: 6". CALIBER: .45 ACP. This firearm is a highly specialized, custom-built 1911 Open-Class competition "race gun" built from the ground up by a master gunsmith. It is a completely unique hybrid pistol that mates a premium aftermarket frame with a heavily modified factory top end, specifically tuned for high-speed competitive shooting environments like USPSA or Steel Challenge. The foundation of the pistol is a receiver manufactured by Foster Industries out of Wolcott, Vermont, which is the specialized sister company to the legendary Caspian Arms. This premium frame features an integrated tactical accessory rail, an adjustable match trigger, an ambidextrous safety, and aggressive G10 grips. Crucially, the frame is fitted with a static, frame-mounted optic bracket designed to hold a red dot target sight completely still, ensuring the optic never loses zero and remains completely independent of the moving parts during operation. The upper assembly utilizes a 6-inch "Long Slide" originally manufactured by Springfield Armory, authenticated by their iconic "Crossed Cannons" factory logo. To optimize this heavy slide for competition, a gunsmith executed radical machining modifications, including milling six precision port windows into the sides to drastically reduce the slide's reciprocating weight. Additionally, the rear of the slide was completely "stepped down" or melted to clear structural room for the frame-mounted bracket, a process that completely eliminated the need for traditional front and rear iron sights. The result of this extensive customization is a ultra-fast-cycling, flat-shooting competition machine tailored to keep a red dot tracking perfectly on target. CONDITION: Very Good. 98%. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. This gun appears to have been used very lightly. The frame optic mount show sighs of an optic previously mounted. Operates normally. Nice Ride !. MODERN 26-1018
