Cabinet (1) - Elephant ivory - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)

This item CANNOT be sold outside the EU. Exceptional cabinet in ivory enriched with refined applications in gilded copper and silvered bronze (mixed metal) depicting characters engaged in daily life and small animals. Each plate is surrounded by shibayama inserts in coral and mother of pearl. It is in excellent general condition with minimal wear and some spacing in the joints due to the normal expansion of the material. Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer. Very important note for bidders outside the EU.
