Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. The wooden surfaces appear to have been professionally refinished at some point in the history of the piece. The wooden surfaces present with minor scratches and shallow indentations concentrated to the edges. The veneer with areas of occasional losses and crackling throughout most prominent to the top and base of the cabinet and consistent with age, some of which appear to have received professional inpainting at some point in the history of the piece. The gilt elements present with very minor discoloration and oxidation consistent with age. The shagreen panels are in overall very good and stable condition and present with age-appropriate wear throughout. The cabinet is offered together with a period key which is functional.
