Large beautiful dark red lacquered isho-dansu (cabinet of drawers) . The sides of the cabinet are black lacquered, the front is red lacquered. This cabinet is fully restored, cleaned and waxed. There are no keys for the drawers. The tansu is made of hinoki cypress indigenous wood and has all original hardware. Large round decorative lockplates. The cabinet is reinforced at the corners and sides with handmade hardware. With three "carry-on" handles on each side of the upper and lower part for easy transport All drawers are smooth running and fully functional. Meiji period (1868-1912) .
