Cabinet - Hardwood - Large functional tea chest " Cha Tansu" with lots of storage space and nice details - Japan - Shōwa period (1926-1989)

Elegant high Cha Tansu tea cabinet in 2 sections in very nice original condition. The cabinet is fully functional with all smooth running drawers and sliding doors. The frame of this cabinet is made of Keyaki wood (zelkova) , the panels of the sliding doors and the front panels of the drawers all made of elegant mulberry wood. The upper part has 8 mulberry wooden sliding doors and 2 large glass sliding doors. Behind 2 glass sliding doors a display area which in Japan is used to show decorative seasonal objects like flower arrangements. With a shelve in rounded wood in S-shape and decorative lattice work on the back panel. Also 4 mulberry sliding doors , 1 drawer and a sliding tray. All wood sliding doors with chrysanthemum shaped hardware. The lower part of the cabinet has 2 wooden sliding doors and 5 drawers with iron handles with a floral design. A very practical cabinet with lots of storage space and nice details in exceptional original condition. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
