Cabinet with Gothic panels (1) - Gothic - Wood - Late 15th century
Gothic furniture, last third of the 15th century, presumably from northern Netherlands, of which the lower part is missing. The sculpture is beautifully crafted but unfortunately incomplete. Description by Mrs Fligny expert in Paris, high period of Gothic fenestration with orb-way 137 x 165 x 50 cm. Carved panels are original are, except the rest of the furniture is made later. Panels: h: 60x 25cm, central panel: 60 x 15 cmtwo drawers: 60 x 15 cm. There are five panels. The central panel does not open. The doors on either side of this central panel are made up of two panels each and open in "accordion". The panel of the right door is connected to the cabinet frame with a large vertical lock. Both panels on the left door each have a big lock. Everything is original except the back of the cabinet and the sides (vertical planks) . and the bottom (horizontal planks)
