Cadillac Heron Radiator Mascot Hood Ornament LOT

Lot of two chrome-plated Art Deco style Heron automobile hood ornaments after the iconic design by John W. Hession Jr., originally used on Cadillac and LaSalle automobiles from 1930-1932. Each depicts a streamlined heron in flight with outstretched wings and an elongated body. One ornament retains a round chrome mounting cover and is presented on a circular hardstone display base, while the other is mounted on a gray and white veined stone plinth. No apparent maker's marks observed. Approximate measurements: 8" x 7.5" x 4" and 8.75" x 8" x 4". Gallery is uncertain as to origin, age, or date of manufacture.

Condition: Good to fair overall condition with typical age-related surface wear and patina. One ornament exhibits oxidation and plate loss to the round mounting cover. Both display bases exhibit normal storage wear along the edges and corners. Note: This condition statement is provided as a courtesy and reflects an opinion, not a statement of fact. Bidders are encouraged to inspect items in person or through an agent to assess condition. Estate fresh to the market.
