Size and weight: length 4,846 mm width from 1,801 to 1,829 mm height from 1,351 to 1,364 mm wheelbase 2,743 mm. In 1986 a new car body appeared that combined the angular lines of the original Seville with new rounded edges. This new series had a V8 transverse engine that moved the front wheels. The new chassis of the Seville/Eldorado had an advanced four-speed automatic transmission and a 4. 5 L V8 engine with an average highway consumption of 7. 8 L/100 km. This new series was the first model in the world with an on-board computer that monitored the engine and other systems of the car. The Seville Touring Sedan was introduced in 1988 and was equipped with FE2 Touring suspension. This version had alloy wheels, a rear anti-roll bar, a steering box with a gear ratio of 15. 6: 1 installed to improve handling, a Cadillac emblem mounted on the grille, a special lock for the luggage compartment and a specific interior trim for the four-seat passenger compartment. In 1990 the Seville’s engine was fitted with a new injection system, which brought the power to 180 hp. The front parking lights were no longer mounted on the wings. The Seville Touring Sedan was revised, including a matching bumper shield, which gave the version a more aggressive look. An exhaust system with chrome end pipes and a power brake were also installed. The engine was the same as that of the standard series, while the gearbox had a final ratio of 3: 33: 1, which allowed the vehicle to have better acceleration. The driver’s side airbag was also added, both on the standard Seville and on the Seville Touring Sedan. The latter was produced in 1,893 units in 1990. There were no changes to the car body in 1991, but there were some mechanical updates. The most important change was the new 4. 9 L V8 engine, which was coupled to an electronically controlled automatic transmission. Clayton Farlow, one of the protagonists of the Dallas TV series, drove a black Cadillac Seville Touring Sedan in the show from 1988. Assembled in Hamtramck, Michigan, this Seville series had the engine mounted on the front and a front wheel drive.
