Calcite, Fluorite on Sphalerite Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee, USA 7.2 x 6.3 x 4.1 cm ( 2.83 x 2.48 x 1.61 in) This aesthetically arranged combination specimen beautifully presents most of the staples from the Elmwood Mine: beautifully formed Calcite and Fluorite on a Sphalerite matrix. Signature to this famous American locality, the Calcite is a transparent, doubly terminated scalenohedron with a nice amber-yellow color; the Fluorite has a rich purple hue and is completely lined with distinct surface textures.
