Calcite Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia Although Tsumeb is justly famous for the exceptional specimens of rare and exotic minerals, it was also the source of Calcite crystals with an unbelievably diverse set of habits and colors. Many had inclusions of variously colorful rare minerals and a few had no extra ingredients at all. This one is from the latter group; its sole claim to fame is the esthetic perfection that it displays. That is enough. Oh, that and the fact that it's from Tsumeb.
